Frank: I've been watching a lot of vampire films
Ella: What for?
Frank: Oh, you know, thought I'd try and get to know you better. They say some great stuff. I
mean once you get past the cape era you start wondering what they're a metaphor for; you know, it might be AIDS, heroin, anorexia, it might be the whole spiralling chaos of western society; not knowing the difference between good and evil any more-- I mean not even being able to define the terms. And they're sexy and heartbroken and mostly Californian and they keep coming out with fantastic cliches like 'it's easier to succumb to the darkness within you than to fight the darkness without' and you get the feeling that if it wasn't for their nihilistic disregard for human life, they'd be the nearest thing we've got these days to gods
Tomorrow is my first day as a director. I am completely jazzed.

So the thing that made my day, and quite possibly my life, was seeing Steven Colbert sing with CSN on his show. Priceless and adorable.

My horoscope says for tomorrow:
You are less interested than ever in meaningless chatter.
Am frustrated with shallow people.
(Bridget Jones always begins sentences with "am" so I thought I would try it out. Am please with it)

"Alright, alright. I've got it! We should have a shot where the weird guy covered in hair turns around to Nicole Kidman and says, 'Cookie?' Now wouldn't that be brilliant? You see because this line captures the entire meaning of the movie. What that is I'm not sure of yet, nor will I probably ever be, but I think it relates to the overall theme of the film."
This is what I imagine was going through Stephen Shainberg's head when he was making Fur.
